WHY I DO THIS
I’m a reading specialist and national literacy trainer who works with parents of K–5 students.
Reading specialists are often the first to recognize patterns in foundational reading skills that may signal underlying reading difficulties or potential dyslexia risk. Early identification and targeted instruction can make an enormous difference in long-term reading success.
After more than 20 years in literacy education, I’ve analyzed thousands of student reading profiles, monitored progress, and helped families and educators understand what individual children need to become successful readers.
Many of the families I work with share the same concern: something doesn’t feel right, but they don’t know what matters most or what to do next.
Reading is a complex skill that must be taught in a clear, structured way. When key pieces are weak or missing, it can affect fluency, spelling, comprehension, and confidence. My role is to help parents understand how reading works, identify which underlying skills may be affecting their child’s reading development, and collaborate to create a clear path forward.
Even after years teaching in schools and training educators nationally, I still see families struggling to get clear answers. That is why I created Reading Resolution: to give parents clarity, practical tools, and confidence in the decisions they make for their children.
Less guessing. Less stress. Real progress.
About Reading Resolution
Reading Resolution was created to help parents better understand how reading develops, what may be interfering with progress, and what to focus on next—whether they are working with a school or navigating reading instruction independently at home.
Many families feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice, curriculum changes, and unclear explanations about their child’s reading. Reading Resolution exists to simplify that process and help parents make informed, confident decisions.
The approach is grounded in the science of reading and structured literacy, translated into practical, parent-friendly guidance families can actually use.
Rather than focusing on programs or one-size-fits-all solutions, Reading Resolution focuses on understanding the individual child:
how reading skills are developing,
where breakdowns are occurring,
and what types of support are most likely to lead to meaningful progress.
Whether families are homeschooling, working with a school, using tutoring, or navigating concerns independently, the goal is the same:
clearer understanding, targeted support, and less time spent guessing.
Every service at Reading Resolution is built around three core ideas:
Clarity — understanding what matters and why
Collaboration — equipping parents with the understanding and tools to support their child confidently
Confidence — helping families move forward with a focused plan
Less guessing. Less stress. Real progress.
